Life can be hard and it does not get easier simply because you have accepted Christ into your heart.  In many ways, I believe it gets harder.  We have a real enemy and the stronger your walk with the Lord becomes, the harder our enemy tries to knock us down.  He tries to make us doubt everything including our faith.  He wants us to question our God.  He wants us to stay in our pain and our mess.  I mean, the longer we stay there, the more he can distract us and influence us.  The easier it becomes for him to manipulate us into believing his lies.  

I’ve been there in that place where all you can do is ask “Why Lord, why?”  I’ve been there where my faith seemed so small that I wondered if I had any left.  I’ve asked, “When is it my time to be happy?”  and, “Why did you answer all those prayers to take the very thing I was praying for away?” Like many of you, I’ve been knocked down again and again and again.

But God!!

He steps in, picks me up, and comforts me!  He steps in and places the right people in my path to get me back on track.  He steps in and gives me the strength I need to get back up again!  He steps in and He FIGHTS FOR ME! 

In our moment of pain, we can’t see the bigger picture. We don’t know what the Lord has saved us from or what He is leading us toward.  We can’t possibly see what He sees but we have to know and trust that He is greater than anything we face here in this world!  We have to know and trust that He is fighting for us!

His Word is a mighty and powerful sword to hold onto as we battle the enemy.  It reminds us that we are never alone.  It reminds us that He loves us and He is fighting for us! 

Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God Himself will fight for you.

Deuteronomy 3:22

For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.

Deuteronomy 20:4

What, then, shall we say in response to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31

Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9

Through You we push back our enemies; through Your name, we trample our foes.

Psalm 44:5

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 10:10

One of you routs a thousand, because the Lord your God fights for you, just as He promised.

Joshua 23:10

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.

Exodus 14:14

Hold onto these scriptures as reminders that your Heavenly Father fights for you!  He loves you and will never leave your side!
